In September 2015, Philpott helped launch The Secret Ingredient, a biweekly podcast with Raj Patel and Rebecca McInroy, through Austin's public NPR radio station, KUT. Also available on iTunes.

Philpott is also a regular guest on the What Doesn't Kill You podcast on Heritage Radio Network, broadcast from Brooklyn, NY, and the Marc Steiner show Sound Bites, broadcast on Baltimore's NPR affiliate WEAA 88.9. 

Philpott has been interviewed by numerous radio programs, including September 2016 for the BBC's World Business Report on Bayer's takeover attempt of Monsanto and August 2015 for the BBC's Food Programme episode about sugary beverages. Austin's NPR affiliate KUT interviewed Philpott on the food industry for the In Perspective podcast (May 2015).  Lynne Rossetto Kasper spoke to him on NPR's The Splendid Table (March 2015). Thorne Dryer interviewed Tom Philpott for the Rag Radio show on Austin's community radio station KOOP (November 2014). LA's NPR affiliate KCRW interviewed him about the California drought for the Which Way, LA? program (September 2014). He was interviewed by Doug Henwood for the Left Business Observer's Behind the News podcast on GMOs and agricultural technology (January 30, 2014).

He was interviewed by Terry Gross on NPR’s Fresh Air  in June 2012.
